Congratulations Miranda Terrell!

HOSA is pleased to announce, along with the Office of the Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps (OCVMRC) in the Office of the Surgeon General, the 2012 HOSA-OSG Interns. Nevada's Miranda Terrell was selected for the summer internship in Washington, DC and will be joined by HOSA leaders from Arizona, North Carolina, Hawaii, and California for this experience.

The number of applicants doubled from 2011 and the caliber was of the highest standard making the final selection extremely difficult for the committee in the OCVMRC to narrow the interns to 2 student members and 1 advisor/alumni for each session.

Nevada HOSA is very proud of Miranda and thankful for the partnership between HOSA and the Office of the Surgeon General. Congratulations Miranda!

Nevada HOSA Student Bylaws Amended

At the 2012 Nevada HOSA State Leadership Conference voting delegates adopted a number of amendments to the Nevada HOSA Student Bylaws which govern membership, chapters, state officers, and other important aspects of Nevada HOSA. All chapters should download these newly amended bylaws and be familiar with the changes and refinements. Thank you to our hardworking state officers and voting delegates who carefully considered and provided leadership in the continuing advancement of Nevada HOSA.

With the increasing demand on our health care system, shortages in high caliber workers, and a significant transition in leadership in the coming years, the value and importance of HOSA's contribution to the development of a pipeline of future health professionals and leaders has never been greater.
